For a quick listing of some of your hardware try the following command shown below. I've extracted the output as it's alot longer. There's a similar listing with gnome, dunno what it is though.
Code:
/sbin/lspci
00:00.0 Host bridge: Intel Corporation 82830 830 Chipset Host Bridge (rev 04)
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 82830 CGC [Chipset Graphics Controller] (rev 04)
00:02.1 Display controller: Intel Corporation 82830 CGC [Chipset Graphics Controller]

Post subject: poor video performance
Hi,
For general office work and internet, the system performance is great. However, when it comes to trying to play some of the 3D games, the performance is a serious problem.
For example, I try to play the 3D chess game, and the system is very slow. I press a button, and it takes 10 seconds for it to register.
Is there some trick to achieving decent video performance?
Thanks for all the help.
Mike H
Video Card is nVidia GeForce4 MX440
I went to nVidia WEB site and downloaded drivers. However, when I tried to install, the message said something about the legacy drivers will be used, and the install ended.
