Hello, all, thought I'd post a few thoughts on this latest distro, Blag 6000. I have been in testing mode, and really wanted to get the new Fedora Core 6, Zod, to work for me. It went in like a dream, and boots up a lot like Blag does, so no problem there. Then the problems started. Java problem, big time. After trying and trying to get Java installed, I finally used Fedora Frog http://ubuntuguide.org/wiki/Fedora_frog to get Java installed in the proper folders, along with the Firefox plugin. Ok, that worked, even though the site said that script was for Fedora 5.

I love Streamtuner, got used to it by running Blag, so that had to work. Fedora Frog would not install Streamtuner, but did install all the codecs that it needs. So I installed Streamtuer from the Extras site, and at fist it worked OK. the next morning, it would only play the stream that I had originally played, and no other. Then Yum started giving me problems, and even replacing the script didn't help. The Yum Extender takes forever to load, even when you disable the plugins.

So, I am back to Blag, no problems there, everything works like a dream. I am left to wonder why Fedora, such a big, popular distro, has so many problems, and refuses to work right out of the box, like Blag. Keep us the good work, Blag guys, you have it right. The only change I can see that would help is if Blag installed with Java ready to go, but I do understand the licensing problems involved. I really like that you can have KDE from the install, that is great. Cudos, guys! Templar
