|

I would like to request mozplugger. I know I'm probably a little late because 50000 is already released, but if it was included in an update I think it would be great at showing off how well Blag is equipped to play a lot of media off of the web.
It also only requires that you install mozplugger. I installed it on Blag 50000 and it did not pull in any other packages to satisfy dependencies. Seems easier then adding mplayer-plugin or totem-plugin because it is not specific to one application it seems to just use whatever application is needed.
It lets you skip the w32-codecs and use free software to play your media. Skipping w32-codecs also means you are not restricted to i386 architecture.
I can't say I haunt forums much so please feel free to mail me at gregweber @ shaw.ca

I think it would be useful, not just to me, to have hibernation (at shut down copy memory to swap for later resume) support in Blag. It is very important to laptops even useful on desktops. It saves start up time and allows one to pick up where they left off.
What is also important is it could be done with less work then getting standby or suspend to memory (power saving levels that are often hardware specific) It still might be too much work. It is a mere humble request. Thank you.
Feel free to mail me at gregweber @ shaw.ca if you want to get a hold of me.

If you have a look in System->Preference->More Preference you will see that is exactly what Blag 50K can do.....well I use it on my T42. I suggest that you give Blag a full test drive and explore all it can do.
Cheers ;)

For some reason, suspend to disk works on my Dell Inspiron 1100 laptop with the 2.6.16 kernel but resume hangs on the 2.6.17 kernel. So I'm sticking with the 2.6.16 kernel for now.

mozplugger is on the CD. If you didn't get it installed, run this:
| Code: | apt-get update
apt-get install mozplugger |

Not sure if this has been covered but I'd like to see a good cd burning app with 50001. Either Bonfire or Gnomebaker since reports of graveman not working correctly with fedora 5.

I've got a request for a package update for 50002:
notecase 1.1.9
Notecase is currently in the blag repos, but it's an old version (1.1.4)
Thanks.

For 50002, I request Brasero (or whatever Bonfire is now called).
This is monotonous, but I'd really like a burning environment that works.
thx ;-)

Hi,
Hope this is the right place to post this. On the fedora forums there is a thread - http://forums.fedoraforum.org/forum/showthread.php?t=117070
discussing the following music player/organiser - http://listengnome.free.fr/
Toward the end of the thread is a mention that an rpm has been created and is now is the extras-development repos. Is there a way to get that repos enabled in the latest blag?
Thanks,
Neil.

Yep, I've wanted listen for awhile:
http://bugzilla.blagblagblag.org/show_bug.cgi?id=690
Looks nice. The fedora development repository is currently for fedora core 6 (which is unreleased)--you need to be running their test releases to use it. So you won't be able to use it in FC5 or BLAG50k.
Basically, listen requires some newer libraries than are in FC5/BLAG50k, but once we go to 60k+, I'll be certain to include it.
Thanks,
-Jeff
P.S. ya, this is a fine place to request it :)

Hi jebba,
In case you're interested (if you haven't already heard) I've just seen a post in the thread already mentioned about Listen that it is now in the FC5 extras.
Are the blag extras a mirror of the FC5 ones, or do you add or remove things? I guess the answer to that is probably a yes, as I was wondering as Listen in is now in FC5 extras will it in time just also appear in blag extras?
Thanks,
Neil.

Well, listen has not appeared in the blag repos. So a big thanbk you to whoever was involved in that. However, when I try to instal it, using synaptic get the following error:
listen:
Depends: /usr/bin/puid but it is not installable
Depends: python-ctypes but it is not installable
Depends: python-musicbrainz2 but it is not installable
Depends: python-mutagen (>=1.6) but it is not installable
Depends: python-sexy but it is not installable
Presume this is beacuse these dependancies are not yet in the repos also? Or will they need to be installed manually?
Apologies if this post should hasve gone to the support forum, but as listen was being talked about here thought it would be okay to post here? I'm sure someone can move it, if it is the wrong place.
Neil.
