Hey I hate posting this question cause I feel the answer is out there, but I can't find it.
I am running 10000. I am nervous about getting 20000 because it's based on FC2 right. I had a lot of issues with FC2 and more so with the most recent kernel.
I did however like the latest release of GIMP. 2.0 I believe.
Well I tried update through apt but no luck. What is the best way to update to the newest version.
Thanks!

gimp 2 i s a big improvement over the previous version. I don't know who has made RPMs for FC1, but I'm sure they're out there. Um, in fact, I made some at one point... I could rebuild them as well, http://bugzilla.blagblagblag.org and I'll do it next time i'm working away on 10k :)

After some seaching it turns out that install Gimp 2.0 on FC1 could be tough.
the current release 20000 beta is running 2.6.8 kernel right?
Is it possible to install the lastest release and still run the 2.4 kernel? I have tried the 2.6 with other distros and had many problems. Such as running Quake3 and burning CD's as user.
Just a thought.

Gimp 2 can run under FC1, but it requires a few stock RPMs to be replaced. I have rebuilt packages for it. I'll pop them online (& if there's a bugzilla for it, I'll have less of a chance of forgetting). Currently my 10k box is offline cuz it was running a bit hot...
