not sure whether to laugh or cry at this one!
the reference in the comments to "national socialist gentoo" is beyond belief.
i am a member of deviantart,a few of us have reported this as it breaks at least 3 of the site rules,sadly it is still there at the moment,so if anybody else reading this is a member,some more complaints would be appreciated.
if it is not removed,some of us are going to remove our work and leave the site,as we will not be part of a site that gives these "people" a platform for their disgusting beliefs.

That realy is sad. People have the freedom to what they want, but it has it limits.

i have to admit,i was not sure whether i should have reported it or not,as you say,freedom of speech is very important,but this does cross the line,i have written about this in my journal,which is on my main page

thanks for the quote,i had not seen that,i shall forward that on as there are very clear rules about anti-semitism and inciting racial hatred.
what is really sad though is that he is not the only nazi on the site or that uses linux!
how they can justify being members of deviantart or using linux with their beliefs just amazes me.

I really do not think that a professional forum is a place for political discussions. However, these thoughts are not political at all but human hatred. If someone feels a threat from his neighbors, university professors, writers and, etc. (Jews) he should probably be more afraid of Moslems Africans, Chines because he does not know and understand how different they are from him.
Instead of looking in the mirror and finding the real problems and trying to fix them, he rather put the blame for then on other people - very primitive and unmatured.
Killing brutally millions of people for honor and respect, or thinking that there is a "final solution" how narrow minded people can be - would not get a pass in my philosophy classes.
Blaming Jews for being the capitalist in a country that for years admired kings and czars - Hostory, he should come to classes instead of ....

That's atrocious.
Though the entire DA community has a major issue with the owner and staff. Who've been unresponsive to people's ideas and complaints. It led to quite a few satirical attacks on the owner. Still, if you do a search for Nazism or such, on Deviantart you'll most likely find all sorts of heinous and despicable things. It's sad but Deviantart's policy isn't worth the feces it was printed on. Like many people, I believe that free speech is important and that does lead to contradictions, as any attack on one particular freedom of speech effects them all.
However purposeful hate shouldn't be tolerated.
As a DA member, it's incredibly sad for me. I don't know what to do though. All of you must be aware of the targeting of political groups by the FBI, CIA etc...
While we complain of this hate mongering, the government is seriously encroaching upon our liberties. There is a major war on Dissent and if one particularly hateful form of speech is erased, I'm worried that others who don't agree with leftist or radical ideas may also start getting roused and then all political speech online will face jeopardy.
Does that make sense?

It makes perfect sense to me. I have no problem at all with someone wanting to create a version of Linux that supports Fascist/Nazi idealogy. I am sure that to many a distribution that supports Anarchist idealogy is offensive, hateful, and violent. You cannot assume for a moment that universal moral code exists. I am staunchly against organized charity because I believe that it robs people of their honor and dignity, and as such I disagree with government aid programs (and more vehemently disagree with foreign aid {America offers financial and/or military aid to 153 countries, there are only 192 in the world}). This makes me different from almost every person I have met. I live this though. I am a USMC veteran and I do not use VA assistance or any other government assistance program. To many, I am hate filled. To many, I am evil. I think that I am a good person. Should I be allowed to talk about letting people who will not (I never said cannot) help themselves die?
