with the release versions of 50k,my graphics card is not found, the beta versions found it ok,but the release versions find a onboard chip which is disabled,is there any way to install other than re-enabling the onboard chip and adding the card afterwards.
i did try installing in text mode, but could not log in,i just got a load of errors about things missing.
thanks andy

I have no experience with Nvidia, but I use an ATI... I never bother with the proprietary drivers, and just use the ones that come with the install...
See : System -> Administration -> Display -> Hardware

I had a similar problem.
I am a new Blag user.....with a bit of a Linux background. I've used Xandros 3.0 for the last two and a half years, so i am a bit familiar with using some of the package managers (apt-get and synaptic)
I bought a NVidia 5500 PCI card, and I was trying to install newer drivers.
I went thru all of the trouble of getting all of the 2.6.18-1 drivers that I needed....but BLAG kept telling me that 'init 3' was an invalid command for shutting down X windows....
I solved this little problem by using nano to edit my xorg.conf to driver="" instead of driver="nv"
Then I rebooted the computer.
Of course since X couldnt start...I could log in and run my downloaded NVidia update drivers....
Afterwards you type startx as again 'init 5' wasnt recognized by my BLAG system, and voila I was back in business with a graphics screen.
I STILL had to do a reboot however, as I dont care much for the GNOME display manager....I'm still a KDE fan.
I guess my next project ill be getting Beryl manager to work correctly 8-)

AHHHHHH
Well, now I learned some thing lol 8-)
I had a graphics failure of sorts...X wouldnt start.
I merely plopped plopped in my BLAG cd, typed blagblagblag AND
Totally erased my Windows NTFS partition.
SIGH lol
Never assume tou're too much of an expert at anything is the lesson here kiddies 8-)
