Hi,
Just wandering what a "Proxy" is for? Like the Firefox add-on "PhProxy". What does it do? Why would I use it? I did read what the description said about it, but I want to know more, generally speaking, about "Proxy". Are there pros and cons to using it? what ever anyone's thoughts are.

Thanks,
Mike

Mike - in general, a proxy server connects a browser to the internet on behalf of (i.e. as a proxy for) a user. To a website, it will appear as if it was visited by the proxy server and not by the individual user. Companies use proxy servers to monitor and control access to the internet by employees. Parents of teenaged boys use proxy servers like "squid" to keep them from accessing naughty websites. :^)

I'm not familiar with PhProxy, but according to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PHProxy it is no longer being supported.
