Hi,
My Add/Remove Software menu item has gone missing.
Cam anyone suggest how to recover from this?
I can still use Synaptic, but prefer the Add/Remove Software menu item.

My "Software Updater" menu item is also missing. I'm not sure what went wrong.
Is there any sort of system recovery tool to set the basics back in order?

You must have removed `pirut` and `pup` programs.

I used Synaptic and installed "pirut", and now I'm back in business with the Add/remove software
next, "pup"

Ah, `pup` is actually a part of `pirut` so you just need to install pirut.
