Actually fits on a cd. Workz. Doesn't install blagCanyon by default though.

It installed very smoothly for me. It's easy enough to pull blagCanyon and anything else I needed from the repo. I did have to edit /etc/apt/sources.d/blag.list to remove atrpms, but that was no big deal.

I just installed 89999.40000 on an extra partition (I wasn't sure how linux-libre would work with my hardware. Everything's running swimmingly! I had to download kernel-libre-devel to compile my rt61 driver and I noticed that the gnome desktop was the same as the gdm splashscreen and I realized that nautilus wasn't installed, so I downloaded and installed that. I hadn't been sure about my sound card because that broke under gnewsense, but it works with blag 90k. apt-get isn't working very well, I get an error message when I try to install things:

For some reason I had a hard time getting my wireless card to work with NetworkManager. I uninstalled NetworkManager and it works fine, now.

You need to edit /etc/apt/apt.conf and comment out the GPG lines. Yes, i know.

I'm sure 90K will be swanky and I hope to test an alpha or beta real soon.
Read the noise, sounding good. Not *too* concerned as I used to be about apps since it's so easy to apt them anyways. My only wish list would be to replace cursed gThumb viewer with GQview since I'd prefer for gThumb to never darken my computer's door step again.

I would be nice to be undo an install when the drivers don't work..etc. Other misfits are also included..... Like .. remember FC1>FC2?.
So - how much added disk space and programmer's time would be needed for this? ie, needed hdwe USED to work, but will not now - - because?? non-free S/W only? I dunno, .. But having my system be blown away IS kinda scary, eh? I realize that the total field of hdwe and the drivers req'd is gigamungus.
Personally, I am worried that if/when I go to the NEXT step - I will be, in all intents and purposes, DEAD.
Just a whine from a stateside wanker.

You mean if you install 89k? Well, to "undo install" would require a complete backup of your previous system. So that's not likely to get added to anaconda or anything, if that's what you meant.
I doubt you'll have much hardware which worked before but then doesn't work with -libre if that's what you're referring to (I had a hard time parsing your post). The most likely thing would be to lose 3D graphics, or *maybe* a soundcard or a webcam or something. The -libre kernel doesn't really remove much hardware support that a typical BLAG user would need, actually.

If you have onboard video you'll even have 3D support.
