ftp://ftp.blagblagblag.org/pub/BLAG/linux/90000/en/iso/BLAG-90001-i386.iso
BLAG is a 100% Free Software distribution with all the tools you want from a
desktop computer, plus more. It comes on a single CD (684 megs), is easily installed, and user friendly.
This release follows quickly on the heels of BLAG 90000, as there were a few annoying issues with that, some of which have been sorted, such as some broken dependencies.
A number of packages have been added to the CD, some of which appeared in earlier blag releases, such as: bittorrent, freej, gcc, gqview, gthumb, thunderbird, vnc-server, xchat.
The CD has 97 package updates including a new kernel-libre-2.6.25.10-86.fc9.1, firefox 3.0.1, gnome/gtk2/nautilus packages, pidgin, xorg and more.
In sum, this release contains less suck.
Known issues with this release:
* Use yum instead of apt, or uncomment GPG line in /etc/apt/apt.conf (or install those keys)
* Automajick kickstart installs are not currently available
* On some installs you have to hit ctrl-alt-f7 after firstboot when you add a user. This is only needed the first time.

Heh, ya, by *me*. The 90000 release was probably the least polished release *evar* and i humbly apologize... Sure was a quick way to get people to find bugs by linking on the front page though. ;)

Excuse please, if this is wrong place to ask, but does this mean 70k is no longer supported? I have been happily using this for some time, and am limited to dialup (yes, we still exist:)

You can still ask questions and such, if that's what you mean by supported, but it's getting a bit old by now and this whole linux thing is terribly insecure. You may want to stay fresh with newly built kernels from linux-libre:

fedora has just stopped supporting fc7 which is what 70k is based on, so the supply of updated upstream packages will [has already?] dried up... depends what you're happy with. you can always get copies of the 9000x cd sent to you if downloading the iso is a pain for you [see threads elswhere and front page of blagblagblag.org iirc].

till recently I knew of a Fedora 1 box with a incomplete upgrade to Fedora 4, sitting naked on the internet, whose owner used by sending commands via rsh. I still feel comfy with my BLAG 60K and 70K boxes sitting behind firewalls.

firewalls? ya, drop passwords, firewalls, install an old blag and just let it hang out. still more secure than windoz methinks. ;)
I set all my wifi systems to open networks with essid "consume" so anyone can wander around, surf via me (even with an open squid proxy tunnel!), etc.
granted, when i provided services to the western area power authority, i didn't do this.... but i think as a "regular" end user the "end of life" of fedora 7 and no security updates isn't that big of a deal. Security experts may disagree and say you have to be running the latest bleeding -stable series kernel with selinux, locked down behind a firewall, with the craziest hardest password on earth etc.
I like "no root password' more ;)
