avi to dvd

hi all

i have a bunch of avi files which i like to burn to dvd. the dvd must be readable by a 'normal' dvd player [the kind you plug into a tv].

suggestions on software and method would be appreciated.

devede is sweet if all you want to do is put some videos on DVD and don't care about menus.

the tovid suite is quite good if you don't mind the command line interface. Convert avi to mpeg, build up a menu and then burn it to dvd.

thanks to stevo32 for the recommendation of devede. it worked...

thanks to others for their input. timl your recommendation looks interesting, may very well check it out now the required dvds have been written and the crisis is over.
