Not that Debian is exclusively free software, but according to this article it appears that there is some momentum in the direction of accommodating those who want to free their Debian Lenny desktop.

Yes, noticed that the other day. Just got home, and planning to install the libre-kernel on the Debian box in the lounge-room. Will see how it goes after dinner. :)

The debian libre kernels were updated a few days ago, and now have dependencies for kernel headers sorted.
Running with squeeze/testing on my laptop, and evertything works fine.

On debian I compiled myself a linux-libre kernel so I run the last one (Actually 2.6.29-1)
