Thanks for coming to the Thursday meeting! For next week, I wanted to delve more into the packages going into BLAG for the next release. I want to re-visit this discussion because there are a default set of packages that have always been included on the install CD and while some of the earlier packages may be better represented in the repo, I would like to discuss the importance of packages being included and highlight those that we might want to include as we are in the process of building the livecd.
While, tools such as libreoffice, icecat and slypheed-claws are to be expected, I'd like to discuss the tools that we'll be using that other blaggers might have an interest in, but uncertain about how to apply them. I'd also like to know what other tools blaggers are using that might pique interest and discussion about how to apply them to everyday use personally or professionally.
Upon Koko's suggestion that we use git in order to manage development, on yesterday, I did a tutorial
, then I went further to setup git for for my own from another tutorial
. It was great to use it and I recommend anyone who has an interest give it a try.
Our community varies with blaggers who have all type of skills an interest and for blag 200000, I'd like to not only see us highlight specific packages, but share our experiences, utilizing the forums, wiki, mailing list to provide documentation that is built from experience.
