hi to all,

I'm an happy free software-user.I'm in search of a stable, updated,Gnome desktop, and 64 bit free software distro.
debian has a no clarify policy to free software, gnewsense is still 386 only, ututo has problems with my Motherboard,so I want to try BLAG.
I downloaded first 119000,but it doesn't end installation (not installing bootloader, and performing an "half-installation").9000net-inst gives an error to fedora repos (seems to refer to anaconda rpm),so I have to quit install.(I founded info of a bug in fedora installer, but refers to an other RPM)
is there a safe way to install blag 64bit on my pc?

Could it be related to this fedora 12 bug?:

9000 is very old, so I assume you are using 90000 (90k)?
The 90k repo is currently at:
ftp://blag.fsf.org/90000/en/os/x86_64/BLAG/
It might not include everything you need to get a working system from netinstall, so you might also need to add a fedora 9 repo from here:

For installing 90K, read it: http://forums.blagblagblag.org/viewtopic.php?t=5093
And read it all.

lucky you :D
no,it is not the same error.
with 119000,I couldn't perform the post-install process.I tried i686 version,I end install but then to login screen,it post me an error (power manager not installed properly) and system wont let me login.I'll try burning x86_64 on a new disc.

yes,but changes nothing.
the problem in netinst is:
cannot retrieve repository metadata *repomd.xml( for repository:
anaconda-fedora200806022006

I' ve also tried another cd for 119000 64bit,first time ended with a freeze at the end of install.

I'm glad to be the first :P

another try, installation ended with an error message "no kernel installed,no changes to bootloader".
try to boot,anything is installed.
I'll search something more on anaconda error, hope to find something.
it seems BLAG hates me :D

so,wondering,
would be a solution? :
install fedora 13
install blag kernel-libre
update repository with Blag free repository.
or will I have anyway non-free blobs?

You may do this test: http://kmuto.jp/debian/hcl/
So you'll se what is needed for your hardware.
I've a toshiba, a very new model that give me problem to run GNU/Linux. It needs kernel 2.6.35 to run fine. So I installed F13 with only free software; then replace the non-free kernel with linux-libre from FSFLA you can find there: http://www.fsfla.org/download/linux-libre/freed-ora/F-13/
It is possible to add the repo like that: http://blag.wiki.aktivix.org/Repo
After that you may install blag icons theme you'll find there: ftp://blag.fsf.org/really-little-guys/
Hope it'll help you to become a free man!

so,thanks, your link is very useful :D
I'm yet a free man,I passed through debian (freed),trisquel,gnewsense,kongoni,musix
So I'll try fedora13+ blag repository and kernel free.
the strange thing is,I've yet tried blag 90000k some time ago, version 386 on this same hardware just to try it,and worked perfectly (but althoug,I need 64bit version).

Are you sure the netinstall CD detected your ethernet card and configured your connection?
Just remember I spoke about installing on my toshiba there: http://forums.blagblagblag.org/viewtopic.php?t=5148
