'Some@me' at home ask me to install skype to connect -This Afternoon!!- with a distant brother...
(I don't like Skype but... family rules...)

Trying to install it, the installer asks me to add the libalsa2 but it is asking to add other dependencies and so on...
Isn't there an straight way to install (and run properly) such app.

TY in advance...

:)

Don't use it. But I found this guide in French: http://forums.fedora-fr.org/viewtopic.php?pid=490527#p490527

If it needs some dependencies, you'll have to install them.

Hi,

I also recently discovered Palava which uses WebRTC for browser to browser video. There is also Vline which may serve as free alternatives. Most services seem to use HTM5 and WebRTC, so this may resolve issues with having to use Skype. Also, it usually does not require any account. Hopefully these resources help in the future if you're trying to move away from Skype and other non-free communication products.

What other free services are people using out there for end to end video?

I've also started using Venom, which is a Tox client that can be installed in BLAG
