I have put enlightenment (e17) in the TESTING repository.
http://www.enlightenment.org
http://enlightenment.freedesktop.org/
You'll have to enable TESTING in /etc/apt/sources.list.d/
Also, remember to disable TESTING afterwards--you don't want to dist-upgrade with it enabled...
This will get all the pacakges:
| Code: | apt-get update
apt-get install ecore edb edb-ed edb-gtk_ed edb-vt_ed edje eet embryo emotion enlightenment entice entrance epeg epsilon esmart etox evas ewl
|
Then edit ~/.xinitrc to include enlightenment.

Woaw! I've tried Fluxbox, which I like alot. It's now my main dtm. Seen En't in use at the BLAG meet in Brixton. Seems like there's alot to it.

Just a note: THIS DOES NOT WORK ON BLAG 10K.
Thought I might make that clear for those still using 10K.

I'd like to get e17 installed. I'm on BLAG 30k atm. Here is what my root console looks like with Jebba's commands:
| Code: | [root@localhost drone4four]# apt-get install ecore
Reading Package Lists... Done
Building Dependency Tree... Done
E: Couldn't find package ecore
[root@localhost drone4four]# apt-get install edb
Reading Package Lists... Done
Building Dependency Tree... Done
E: Couldn't find package edb
[root@localhost drone4four]# apt-get install ewl
Reading Package Lists... Done
Building Dependency Tree... Done
E: Couldn't find package ewl
[root@localhost drone4four]# apt-get install entice
Reading Package Lists... Done
Building Dependency Tree... Done
E: Couldn't find package entice
[root@localhost drone4four]# exit
exit
[drone4four@localhost ~]$ koffice
bash: koffice: command not found
[drone4four@localhost ~]$
|
Apt-get works just fine with other apps. I'm stumped. What other information can I provide?

So now I realize I need to draw from the packages in the TESTING repo, b/c afterall, e17 is still in heavey development by rasterman's team. So how to enable TESTING? With Google, here are the apt commands I used (which did not install e17):
| Code: | [drone4four@localhost Desktop]$ su
Password:
[root@localhost Desktop]# apt-get -t testing install enlightenment
Reading Package Lists... Done
Building Dependency Tree... Done
E: Couldn't find package enlightenment
[root@localhost Desktop]# exit
exit
[drone4four@localhost Desktop]$ su
Password:
[root@localhost Desktop]# apt-get -t testing install ecore
Reading Package Lists... Done
Building Dependency Tree... Done
E: Couldn't find package ecore
[root@localhost Desktop]# exit
exit
[drone4four@localhost Desktop]$

I've learned that the testing repos are no longer in the development source list. So I found a fedora guru's website who has multiple repos for installling e17 on fedora core installations. Here is what I used to install e17. To the | Code: | | /etc/apt/sources.list.d/blag.list | I added the following lines of code as root user:
| Code: | #Didier's apt repository for e17 apps/libs
rpm http://sps.nus.edu.sg/~didierbe fedora/3/en/i386 e17
rpm http://dentrassi.de/e17 fedora/3/en/i386 e17
rpm http://fedora.oceighty.net/e17 fedora/X/en/i386 e17
rpm http://dr17.saaf.co.uk fedora/3/en/i386 e17
rpm http://e17.headru.sh/fedora/3en/i386 e17 |
As root, I then inputted Then
| Code: | | apt-get install enlightenment | and it all works.

i love e17, i've just reinstalled it on my 49k box. beware though, although it's not very crashy, big chunks don't work and the modules are buggers to configure. you need a phd to set up the fucking clock!

It doesn't take a Ph D to setup the clock module in e17. Just read the man page for clock. The clock format that suits my likeing is: %a %d %b %I:%M
