i`ve heard there are issues with n-force mobo`s and linux. everything works except onboard network. any way around this, or do i need to get another network card.

uh, not sure about that particular motherboard, but there certainly are newer motherboards out there that aren't supported in 900x. It could be supported in 10000, but without knowing the specific chipset (discoverable via `lshw` or `lspci` perhaps), I can't be certain. Ethernet cards are like a pack of gum nowadays, so you could just get another one. Then you can do NAT or something in the future. :)
