Hi blaggers,
I'd like to wish you all a happy holidays and a happy new year. It's been a wonderful year with plenty of blag work done and the blag community has grown massively. Many new people have come and discovered blag and many users rediscovered blag with the release of blag 30000. Fortunately, fedora core 5 will be out soon enough and blag 50000 development can get underway. Anyhow, I'd like to thank the blag community for being such a kind a welcoming community over the past year and let's hope for another good year!
With that being said, I thought it might be fun to have a few users create some holiday BLAG images. I made this one to start off:
If you want, the blag logo (as drawn by me) can be gotten here in png, svg or sodipodi svg.

So you guys will be working on Blag 50000 soon? Might I ask what happened to 40000?

Yes. We've been working on blag50k already. We are using fedora core 5 test1 as a base. We haven't made an installable image from it yet, but do plan to make alpha releases based on fedora's test releases.
We decided to jump straight to 50k and focus our work on there. RedHat will be using FC5 for the foundation of it's next RHEL so it will likely be a polished release.
We did do an alpha based on FC4 (blag40000), but never did a "stable" release. I'm quite happy with 30001. ;)

I have been using the 40k alpha release since its release, and I have had no real problems with it at all! ;) I am not in the know, but I almost feel you could call it an official release from what I have seen.

Ya, 40k is completely usable. It's not quite as polished as 30k for my tastes, but works fine. Also, being "unstable" means that I don't test the upgrade path as much, but it should be fine anyway.

Well, for anyone who has not seen my post of months ago, I firmly do not recommend an upgrade installation. I had very weird things happen. For anyone who wants to use the 40k alpha, a fresh install is the only way to go.
