ok. i`ve downloaded firefox 9, and unzipped it ( in home directory). when i click on firefox i get a "display or run" box. it opens ok when i choose run, but how do i get it to just open without the box. what me doing wrong?

Hmm. Dunno.

I'd like to get that version into the next release, but I've heard there are some packaging issues since the first time it is launched it needs to be run as root to register (wtf?) a bunch of stuff. Perhaps you're seeing this.

I have yet to ever run it myself though. I've just heard lots & lots of great things about it.

i dunno...i get the same thing, i think its just the way it is and you're stuck with it, because i'm doing the same thing right now.
