hi there
have tried to install nicotine, the soulseek client for linux. python 2.2 is installed , but it isn't working. (see error below)
I was wondering if anyone had any clues on how to get it working in Blag, or evn better to maybe package it for Blag :-)

soulseek client? Dude I haven't heard of half the applications you find. :))) What is it? I had too much nicotine last night to search for more on freshmeat right now!

P.S. With all the tons of extra stuff you're piling on, when you do your next blag upgrade, I recommend upgrading from the DVD version and not the CD.

soulseek is the best filesharing for music system i've used.

that works btw. all i need to do now is to work out how to add a path to the python sys.path :-)
maybe the DVD ting is a good idea too.

i love soulseek, but yeah i'd like to see it added to the respritory.

EDIT: I found RPMs for blag 10000 and 20000 of nicotine. Here they are:

Fedora Core 1 for Blag 10000
Fedora Core 2 for Blag 20000 (i haven't tested either blag 20000 or the nicotine RPM's for FC2)

installed the rpm for nicotine
can't connect to server get a message server is down
is there a updated server?

had a older rpm 1.6
download rpm from the forum links works fine

oh ok, i'm using nicotine 1.0.7
the latest is 1.08rc1...hopefully 1.08 final will be out soon
