We need a minimum of 20 images to submit there, and I've only got about 17. If somebody else is willing to take about 5 screenshots, I'd be glad to work with them and jointly submit them to howtoforge. :)
Thanks,
Stephen Clement

Any chance of some guidance on installing E17 on 49K?? sure would love to have Enlightenment too ;)
I tried installing it but got a beating from all the deps.
How about something in the Wiki.
Thanks
Vas

ok, i'll do a few more screenshots now i've got a working e17 again.
best place for the e17 repos is http://sps.nus.edu.sg/~didierbe/index.html - they've just put the FC5 rpms up.
way i did it was to install yumex first via apt-get, then run didier's rpm to configure the repos.
then use yumex to search and install e17. it's definitely a useable installation, but (on my box at least) not quite as snappy as it was on blag 30k. i think this is down to some issue with my x server, but i haven't had time to poke about with it yet.
cheers

Where did you grab your enlightenment bits from?

They look nice, but there's 2 problems:
a) They're not 1024x768. This isn't crucial and I don't particularly mind, it'd just be nice if they were that res.
b) JPEG. That's the big problem. JPEG is lossy and it's definitly noticeable in your screenshots. PNG would definitly be preferred.
If you're not up to it, we could submit them as is, but I'm picky when it comes to JPG. Makes it look bad. As for hosting, I can take care of that. :)
Thanks,
Stephen Clement

no problem to change them - i had to cut the size / bitrate so my photohost would accept them. how about i mail you one, if it's ok i'll send the rest?

Sure! Send 'em all along to gmail@stevo3232.com (swap the gmail and the stevo3232, of course). Just send them all in one big batch, I'll grab 'em from there.
Thanks,
Stephen Clement
