I love mplayer, but I have removed it since xine provides most of what is needed. Streamtuner is now from dries instead of fedora-extras since the latter one requires bmp. We're at 682 Megs right now, so we have some free space for final applications...
REMOVED:
bmp
mplayer
mplayer-fonts
mencoder
lives
UPDATED:
avahi
avahi-glib
coreutils
cups
cups-libs
dhclient
dhcp
libsepol
perl
perl-suidperl
policycoreutils
python
rsync
shadow-utils
tcl
tk
tkinter
xterm
gnome-screensaver
gnome-session
gnome-themes
SWITCHED:
streamtuner from extras to dries

our of curiosity, is gnome-screensaver needed if you are using XScreenSaver?

Not really. But it's nice to have.

It's the other way around, unless you want to have about 5 screensavers. ;)
Thanks,

yea speaking of screensavers.. I think it consumes alot fo disk space (the last time I checked).
Me i personally prefer the "black blank screen" as screensaver. In the past I've tried to uninstall the screensaver but lots of dependency got wiped out as well ( sound / volume control / etc), so I have to choice but to reinstall em back
