Hi ALL!!!

Although I have not tried it yet I just want to ask first to make sure.

How do I make an APT disk, I mean a cd with RPMS on them but can be read by Synaptic by using the Add CD feature.

I have a computer at home with no Net connection (only available connection is Dial-up and I havent played with that monster yet), I want to show off E17 to some friends (there are very curious MS centric guys)

So back to the question, there a specific format or layout of the directories for the CD?

TIA

Do a layout similar to the blag disk, making sure you have a "base" directory in the correct spot and a symlink for RPMS.os pointing to RPMS.

Then run `genbasedir`, something like:

Code:
genbasedir --flat --bloat --bz2only /mnt/cdrom/BLAG os

This isn't exact, but it's something like that (this is off the top of my head, not tested). If you come up with a proper procedure, it would be cool to put in the wiki. :)

Thanks,

-Jeff
