S4F is a project I am starting myself. My goal is to make a printable and online zine with articles about free software and everything related, publish them online in a blog and in paper to spread the word of free software.

I had the idea when I noticed than most of my anarchist friends, far-left enthusiasts, all of them make part of the Microsoft monopoly, which I think is totally wrong and goes against their principles. I could change their minds but I want to do something more, and then also noticed I never saw a zine about this, and thought it would be good a good way to put the word out.

I don't have much to show now, I am currently writing an article regarding free software and education, based on the Windows 7 Sins website (but hoping to get more deep), that I am hoping to finish it in 2-3 days and publish it online then.

I am accepting texts, artwork and basically anything you want to see published. Some translators would also be nice, I am portuguese and I don't mind translating texts from english, castellano or galego (this are the only foreign languages I understand completely) and make a portuguese version of this. Maybe some versions in our native tongues would help those who are not so good at english.

But right now, I'm focusing on english first, don't want to get too pretentious. If you have a text in portuguese, castellano or galego, I would translate it to english with no problems.

If you are intersted in being a part of this, you can email me at:

s4freedom(a)peacemail[dot]com

or

diogobeir(a)gmail[dot]com

Right now, for the first issue, I would prefer basic introductory articles, explaining what is free software, why is it bad to use proprietary software, alternatives to proprietary software, I don't want to enter in deep stuff right now, since we're dealing with people who probably never heard of this. However, if you have a cool article about some deeper issue, feel free to email me!

Thank you,
dbb

Yeah those sites are very good reading and probably the texts I will put on the first issues are like the ones there. The same old explanation about what is free software and that...

However, I really want to go deeply political in the future and present other points of view that are not mine, and I noticed that this is a very political distro, or at least I have that idea, and there are not many texts around there regarding free software and politics, so I thought that if anyone had one or wanted to write one and see it published...

Thanks for the help anyway.
