Here is a little table listing Linux software to replace Windows software. Pretty handy for those wanting to know more before jumping into Linux.

While on this topic, does anyone here know if there is any GPS mapping software like Delorme, etc. for Linux?

try there. if you find anything good, then let us know as i'm thinking of buying something like a garmin geko, but don't know how the mapping software would run...
