does anyone run either one of these with blag?

i was thinking of getting one, and don't have a preference for either. they're also about the same price. so it comes down to, which is the least hassle to get working under linux?

i notice blag has 'iPod song manager' installed - does this mean iPod should work from the get-go?

cheers

bob

iPods do work with Linux. The Creative Zen should work with gnomad2.

I tryed out my son's Ipod out on Blag and it worked great (20 gig) don't know the model
but was inpressed with the results. Only draw backs is the battery life in the Ipods,so I heard.

that's heartening to know (works in blag, not the battery life!) - my wife has an iPod mini but won't let it anywhere near blag coz she's heard stories of linux killing iPods, somehow. which is a shame, as the only reason we have a windows partition at all, is for her iPod.

i did try connecting it when i was running Mandrake 10, but there was some issue with the kernel, something to do with the iPod's HDD size being misreported.

the battery life thing is a worry though, the case doesn't look like you can open it yourself so if the battery's goosed and the warranty's expired... what then. anyway, i digress...

cheers

Look for the ipod hacks. There are loads. Waiting for the first "throw-outs" to surface and I'm gonna up the disk space and battery.
