A beta of the next minor release of BLAG30k is ready. If the beta looks good, it will become BLAG30001, perhaps later this week.

This beta brings lots of updates to the repository too, which you can grab with synaptic or:

Code:
apt-get update
apt-get dist-upgrade

The beta is available via ftp:

ftp://ftp.blagblagblag.org/pub/BLAG/lin ... .10003.iso

Heh, I'm glad this is finally out. After all of the troubles on the previous attempt to make a BLAG 30001, this one turned out very nicely.

Please report all the bugs you can find here, even the smallest ones. :)

Thanks,

Stephen Clement

If you look hard enough, you'll find one. ;)

I am running 30K and loving every minute and have kept it current with synaptic package manager. Will I be missing out on too much if I download 3001K and keep it as a backup in case my computer dies or some other catastrophic event occurs, rather than installng it anew. I have been using 30K for awhile and don't want to lose all the stuff I've downloaded over the months and bookmarks I visited. If this operating system gets any better, I'm gonna have heart failure from the overexuberance I feel. You guys have created some sweet system and I thank you greatly.......

If you do an update with synaptic, you'll have everything from 30k1, except the kernel which can be updated with synaptic "manually". (basically dist-upgrade upgrades everything but the kernel--if you pick the most recent kernel on the list, you can upgrade it that way). You'll then have a 30001 box.

So basically, keep doing what you're doing and you'll be up to the most recent. You shouldn't have to do a CD upgrade until 40k comes out.

nice work guys. keep it up :=)
This box only crashes when I muck around with system files -deliberately-. I can't think that it can get any better ;)

BTW, stevo32 and I have the 40k devel box set up right now. I did a 40k alpha (unreleased) based on FC4test2 awhile back. Anyway, we should be able to get a 40k alpha out in the next 7 years (or sooner) ;)

Ah cool an update. You rock :) Sadly today my 7992 installation died :( The hard drive stopped spinning which I ought to not complain about given that 4.3GB baby was all of 8 eight long years old with non stop use. How we have came a long way since 7992 :)
