New Labour to tax Free Software?

According to this site, UK's ruling New Labour party wants to tax Free Software.

Bill Gates is a "knight" like Bush is a "pilot".

Would this not be against something in the GPL or can that be overwritten? At the end of the day it won't make any difference practically because we will still all download Linux when and how we choose. They try to make people pay for Windows and its applications now and thats not exactly going to plan.

<rant>It is still a massive pain in the arse though and is typical of this crap government we have. If they spent less time blindly following Bush and wasted less money blowing people up for the fun of it then they might not have to recoup money using such desperate measures.

As for Gates, his position will become weaker and weaker I hope. He can price his crappy software out of everyones range. There is only one way to go when you reach the top and he ought to realise it. </rant>
