Jeff,
OK, I did an upgrade installation on my BLAG FC3. Everything
went fine. Then I ran into an old issue with KVM cable key sequence
(scroll_lock+scroll_lock+up_arrow) that causes the mouse to
go bananas. I suspect it has something to do with the kernel since
it never happened with the old kernel version 2.6.10-1.770_FC3.
I upgraded the kernel to 2.6.12-1.1456_FC4 and rebooted.
I get the following error message:
| Quote: |
Booting 'FC 2.6.12-1.1456_FC4'
root (hd0,0)
FIlesystem type is ext2fs, partition typw 0x 83
kernel vmlinuz-2.6.12-1.1456_FC4 ro root=/dev/VolGroup00/LogVol00 rhgb quiet acpi=off
Error 15: File not found
Press any key to continue...
|
I manually fixed the problem by using the rescue CD and editing.
Now I have 2.6.13-1.1526_FC4. No idea how/why.
First implressions:
+ Boot up speed didn't seem to improve as expected. This is my perception.
+ The start menu changes need some gettnig used to.
More later.
