|
|
I did a build of firefox 1.5 for the BLAG30000 series. It's in TESTING right now, but it should be fine. If it looks cool after a few days I'll put it in the main repository. Please kick it around for me. It looks really great so far. Ahhhhhh, speed. :)

what was wrong with the official mozilla rpm? I had been using the version (RC) from mozilla for over a week now with no problems. ;)

seems to be ok. Got four tabs ioen at the moment it's using 8.6% ram. Not sure if it's me but it does seem be a bit faster.... let you know when I've got fourty or so tabs open ;-)

I have to agree, it may the the power of suggestion, but it does seem a bit snappier than earlier versions. Was this an intent in programming by the firefox team?

Ya, it's definitely faster.
They also implemented a thing where hitting "back" is much faster. In other versions, it would cache the contents, and hitting back would require a re-render of the page. Now it saves the actual render, so hitting "back" is much faster.
Oooh. Being able to move tabs around rocks. FF is so nice. :) I must have 100 or so tabs open. I haven't had any problems with it yet.
So, should I put it in the main repository for everyone?

you are right, some of my most desireable plugins did move, while others were found to be incompatable. I wonder now if FasterFox is really necessary with the new update.

bloody hell! give the folks a chance! :-)
have you followed the advice here: firefox 1.5 issues?
dropped a line to your favourite plugin's maintainer? you never know, they may already have a solution!
