Hi,

I got a blag system running 9002 release, i was wondering if there is a way i could compile my own kernel using the 2.6.x source, at the moment its still using the blag kernel, but i want to add a few things to it so i thought i might as well update it as well.

if this is possible how would i go about doing it?

Thanks!

To compile a kernel you'll need to apt-get gcc and a few other utils. You can run kernel 2.6 on 900x, but you need a few updated RPMs.

Here's some info on the wiki:

You can also run the most recent 2.4 kernel. It will be plenty stable, if you compile it correctly. When you compile your own kernel the stability is in your own hands ;)

Kernel 2.6 is quite fast, especially disk i/o. :)
