it shows the year is 2001. I wish its still 2001 !! those are the happiest moment of my life ( 1998 - 2001) .. pre-teen years.. where you get everything that you asked for :)

and which file is the latest ? the 'current' or the '009' or the '008' ?

Right, I'm off to mess around with some other distros until 50k is stable. This is for no reason other than I have some spare time coming up and want to get some more distro experience before settling on BLAG again. Sure enough, I WILL be coming back to 50k. Had a great time with 30k, my favourite distro so far. Can't wait for the update :)

what other distros have you been playing with recently ? Me.. xubuntu (the first light version of ubuntu).. it is very fast.. but the bad thing about it .. is .. it only run on the same machine where it was installed.

my BLAG30003 harddrive.. i can mount this harddrive on any machine.. and it boots up with no problem.. that is after clicking the "autoconfigure" duing the "new hardweare" auto-detection during the pre-login bootup process.

other recent distros that I've played with (in the past month):
*zenwalk -- not bad, but no network "smb:///" on the Thunar filemanager
*gentoo -- installation is difficult.. must read manual first, so I've abandoned it for now
*xubuntu -- can't login as ROOT, making it really hard to modify any parameters/settings
*edubuntu/kubuntu/ubuntu -- way too slow for me

what I want to try:

Hmm, I don't see where you are seeing 2001.

.00009 is the latest release and is hardlinked to -current.

Since the kernel is so jacked up in .00009, version .00008 is probably best. I'm expecting Fedora to push out a new kernel very soon at which point I'll respin the ISO.

I've even removed .00009 from there. A new kernel will be out real soon, from chatter on #fedora-devel.

can confirm the suckiness of the new kernel - it bust my machine, and coz i have a usb keyboard i couldn't select the old kernel to boot from! anyway, borrowed a ps2 keyboard and all is well again.

blag 49 is getting better and better (especially now yumex seems to be working properly, more or less). i've just been dist-upgrading since it first appeared on ftp, but i'll likely do a fresh install from CD when it becomes stable.

I'm currently on ubuntu, I spent an hour and a half getting this distro to work that could have been better spent idling on #blag. Not happy. Will update on next distro. PLEASE, when is 50k due? Josh

hello jebba.. you are correct.. I had recentl cleared CMOS which booted up my machine to 2001. sorry about that.
