If gdm (the login screen) complains in 49k, run this as root to fix it:

Thanks, that command fixed one of my problem but still have to choose the Desktop Session ie Enlightenment every time I boot the system I get error message along the lines that my home directory should have the permissions 644 (sorry folks I'll write it down next time I reboot....isn't suspend to disk wonderful).
I have tried chown -R foo /home/foo but still have the same problem.....still researching eerr googleing ;)
