I am currently using Blag 10000 and am thinking about upgrading my CD drive which works fine to a DVD/CD-RW drive or just DVD-ROM drive. I need a notebook size drive, since my computer only takes the weird notebook ones, not regular ones. I've heard some of these drives (Pioneers especially) don't like linux. Any suggestions?

I think mandrake (or suse?) had an issue with some pioneer drives in one of their versions, but I think it's all straightened out. I don't know which laptop drives in particular would work better--I would think in general, all IDE laptop drives should be fine.
For what it's worth, I get TDK drives, but these are external.
