I'd like to see a cdburning app included on the cd instead of having to download via repo. I have not tested either graveman or gnomebaker yet. I liked graveman alot on blag 30003 but I remember there being an issue as to it not detecting cd burners(problem was resolved). Not sure if thats been tested yet in 50000. Maybe take a poll on which would be better suited to have on the install cd?Gnomebaker or Graveman?

There is nautilus for burning CDs too, btw.
But I'll include graveman most likely, unless the gnomebaker crowd convinces me otherwise. ;)

Never liked graveman....thought it was crap.

Since graveman can't do as much right now because of sox and not letting me use my burner, I've been playing with Gnomebaker and I'm finding it quite agreeable, especially now that i have gstreamer installed.
Gnomebaker advantages:
-can burn iso images to disk
-split screen for easy use
-can reliably find my CDR unlike graveman who has lost it - yet again..
-doesn't rely on sox which fedora project keeps fscking up
Gravaman advantages:
-better icon
-easy to navigate between filse, settings and disk information
-more control over disk information
So far I have to say the advantage is Gnomebaker even tho Gravaman has been a friend to me in the past. The main thing is Gnomebaker just works. Graveman seems to always be not detecting my burner, or detecting it, but not adding it to usable devices.

It's funny you say this. I was updating a friend's box from 30k to 50k today (this 500MHz box has been running GNU/Linux continuously since before blag) and the new graveman croaked. I installed gnomebaker and bam! it was going. `cdrecord -scanbus` saw things fine, so I'm not sure what crack graveman was smoking. Gnomebaker has a more complex interface, I find, but it does the job well...

Hmmmm. I've never used the built-in burning tools. They're nice.

Gnomebaker is doing a fine job for me... I haven't used Graveman a lot, so can't really tell... I used to be a k3b fan, but Gnomebaker does the same things...

Yeah, I really don't know what to say.
k3b is probably the best, evne though I have to install the kdelibs, which I'm not exactly a big fan of doing.
I'm praying that the Portland project finishes soon.
Neither Gnomebaker or Graveman work, and I don't know why. Perhaps its time that I start using KDE. Not sure.

I have to say that both Graveman, Gnomebaker and k3b are giving me problems these days :
-Graveman doesn't see my CD-RW...
-Gnomebaker works great, but screws up when I need to burn an audio cd from mp3 tracks...
-K3b (I just installed it today) doesn't seem to have th mp3 codecs...
I am sure I missed something, and it must be my mistake, but if ever someone could help me out, either for Gnomebaker or k3b, that would be great...

Now both Gnomebaker & k3b freeze, I end up having to restart the PC with the power button...
Plenty coasters...
Something must be wrong....
it has to be an app' problem, because when my wife boots into her (xp) partition, she can burn cd's fine with Nero, and look down at me like all my Linux stuff is not so good after all....

Try searching redhat's bugzilla with the model name of your drive to see if there are known issues (?). http://bugzilla.redhat.com
`cdrecord -scanbus` will tell you your drive make/model.
