i'm using 50K with kernel 2.6.18-1.2200.fc5 on two boxes - one runs gnome, the other KDE. both boxes' PC speakers are doing a lot of beeping. happens mainly in a terminal (eg., when you TAB to suggest a file name, but there is more than one possibility) and on general announcements (eg. when new mail arrives). there was no beeping on earlier kernels.
i have the PC speaker muted, and sound schemes turned off.
would be nice to get rid of the beeping.. i can live with it, but wondered if anybody has had this on their box.
cheers
