Free fonts

RMS says fotns must be free. Going through all of the fonts in AbiWord, etc, I noticed a lot of fonts I'm not really used to seeing in a free distribution.

Are they all Free?

Well, there are a zillion free fonts rolling around the net. When that set was gathered together like 4+ years ago, most of them were grabbed from free font sites that said they were free. They aren't included in most distros cuz they are so weird.

AbiWord looks cool, never heard of it. I was curious about how easy it is to enforce font copywrites. Has anyone ever been sued over them. There are so many free font sites I am surprised we don't hear more complaints about enfringment.
