Hmm...ok...let's just skip .99919 betas, ok? If it takes a year for you to get 20k stable, then a year i'll wait. Hopefully its not going to take THAT long though...

We are going to keep 20k in the devel-bin for now(Heck,30k could be realesed before 20k),we still can't fix those stupid winxp jakked installs. And the difference between FC1 and 2 is that 2 is faster and based on the 2.6 kernel(FC1 is based on the 2.4 kernel),and FC1 doesn't jack winbloz installs(however I did hear some people complain about it jakking win2k,but it never happened to me,so thats probably not true).

I am actiously awaiting Blag 10001. It would be great to have all those extra pckages on the cd that you mentioned before without having to download them. Also, I am not sure if I missed something but I can't find Mplayer or Xine in the multimedia section on Blag 10000 when installing. However I do see both of them in the repository for download and I got both that way. Are they on the cd and I just don't see them?

It means comps.xml needs some tweaking...

So is the only thing stopping 20k being the stable distro the problems with dual booting XP?
I am dual booting 10k with XP at the moment but would like to move over to 20k, what happens to XP after 20k is installed? If it justs bu**ers up the MBR could I make a boot floppy for Blag and use the "fixmbr" comand from XP's recovery console?

arrowhead, search in these forums to issues about XP and how to get around it.

I guess there isn't too much holding back from tagging the alpha releases as final releases other than I think that 10k just works for the average user better in most cases. FC2 added too many issues (e.g. busting XP, no floppy boot, early k2.6). FC3 is supposed to be released on Nov 1, but the schedule has slipped a couple times. It should be quite a bit more stable from the start than FC2.

Thanks Jef.

Bloody helll, things don't half move fast round here. Already thinking about 30k :D .
Is there an md5sum for this release? I've burned the disc but it fails the check :( .

I'll put it in the devel dir too.
