Blag is climbing well up the chart on Distrowatch...I often hit Blag
on the chart as the more hits it gets the more other distro users
are likely to use it...Would like to encourage more forum users
to hit the Blag button to see if we can get in the top ten....

Hi Graham...I said you would like it...I have tried over 30 distros
in the last few months and this is the one for me......
Best part of being retired is you have time to play

Same, I tested a lot of distros and BLAG10K is the most home user opened by including all missing stuff in RedHat/Fedora.
My suggestion is to include OOo at the place of Gnumeric/Abiword in Office Stuff and include Gcombust.
An other suggestion, but I think there not enough space on CD is to include Java/Flash for Mozilla and the Helix Player.
Perhaps remove Mozilla and replace by Firefox/SylpheedClaws (with spamassassin plugin)/BlueFish
Let me know if it is a good idea!

I think OOo takes too much space.
But Java/Flash for Mozilla is a great idea ^^

yes, but Java and Flash are proprietery. blag is 100% FOSS, so it can't go in there :( , also, OOo is too big to fit on the CD, and Helix Player doesn't do anything MPlayer doesn't.

stevo32 is right about java/flash.
bluefish is already included.
I've considered yanking mozilla for firefox, but that's quite a stock application to disappear...

I like the idea of keeping things simple and at close reach thats what attracted me to BLAG in the first place. Windoz has gone so commercial can't stand it. The idea of keeping one cd is great! Most users are smart enough to install packages they need, If they played around with linux enough. Blag give you the basic stuff to get you started.Puppy Linux is 50 mgs and you get a useable desktop ok.(Interesting distro). So I guess my point is less bloat and more streamlined is better, makes for a more faster, smoother install. Firefox is great need a few more basic plugins,(which you can get em easy enough), but thats ok but I think we need to keep it. Thanks!
