I just set up a blog for myself...I used http://www.wordpress.org It was quite easy to set up, if you know how to add a user/db to MySQL. The URL to the blog is:
http://jebba.blagblagblag.org/
I'm also adding blogtk to BLAG10001. It's small and a bit buggy...but hopefully it'll get mature soon enough.
Anyone else blogging? Where?

Well, I love wordpress. I use it along with phpnuke to run my site tssdowntown.gotdns.org:15000 . And by the way,its very easy ro add mySQL entries,get phpmyadmin at phpmyadmin.net . Easiest way to add MySQL databases.

Yeah wordpress is the best. It is so easy to set up and I have set it up for loads of people. I defy anyone here to install the LiveJournal code. You need to be a real *nix guru to get anywhere with it. So the balls in your court Jeff :)

I've got a blog at http://jayeola.org. It's a bit basic but I'm more than happy with it. I use it as a log to record any system changes, bugs (mainly made by me) and other stuff. Wordpress was very easy to install and I'm surprised that it's about 1.2mb in size. So it's a small app that gives you mucho bang for your bucks.

I also used wordpress for a short bit, and I Was very impressed by it. The only problem it gave me was that I had trouble logging in using BloGTK.

Is there a guide to setting up the blog so it runs locally? i thin i have apache installed but no mysql, so any help appreciated. Am intending on running the blog on my laptop , then transferrring stuff online when i can

nope, unless you plan to export your MySQL database and import it again, you're out of luck. You'll also need MySQL and PHP.
