OK my ISP has obviosly changed something and now I cannont see my lan anymore.
I know, I know it sounds strange but its true. And what is even stranger is the fact that it only effected fedora/redhat intsalls.

I have a test machine in which I installed slack, mandrake, and a couple others as a test.
everything but fedora core 1 and 2 and redhat could access the network and no I did not change anything. I booted up one day and recieved an error telling me that the dns could not find no-reverse-record-configured.unknown.al.charter.net.

Now it just tells me it can't find unknown.local.lan??

My network is set up for dhcp which is supplied by a linksys router.

Now I don't want to change from Blag (10000) so I'm going to set up my network with static IP's. I have a clarkconnect box I plan on setting up as a DNS server .
So I'm just wondering if this is a hard task? Setting up static IP.

I'm not totally stupid :? So I think I could figure it out.
Any tips would be helpfull.

My eth0 is also configured in static IP and works fine.
Two points to monitor : I had to disable irqbalance in server settings (pcmcia connection) and disable network start at boot to choose between eth0 and rtc V90.
In eth0, you have to complete the primary dns information to have your connection working.
In fact you need to know : your IP (it is the minimum ;-)), your gateway and your dns.
It is better if you allow each user to connect via eth0.
