Hi All,
I have a contact in Mozambique, Leo P. Buccahan a volunteer from the Philippines who is working for VSO
Leo is assigned at the Escola Secundaria de Nampula as a part time English Teacher. His duties include running the provincial English Resource Centre based in the school, assisting English teachers in their lessons, and helping mainstream HIV/AIDS in the community, among others.
He is in this position from June 2004 until June 2006
He is initiating a series of programs and one of them is providing computers for the school. Do people know of good places to blag computers which we could send to Mozambique?
Here is some more info on the project from Leo.
COMPUTERS
In this school, teachers and students alike do not have the benefit of the technological world. A limited number of manual typewriters are still in the offices. Much as I would like to teach basic computer skills, it is impossible to do so without the units. For computer companies or offices that are virtually discarding their old but functional units, please consider donating to this school.
Mutiny Arts is in the process of arranging free transportation for any computers donated.
Please get back to me and contact Leo P. Buccahan lepabu@yahoo.com if you think you can help.
Cheers
George Butler
