Back in the real world im involved in a local community centre's music project. www.3ca.org.uk
This involved a spot of teaching music production but mostly now just building the music studio, and providing IT support the proper tutors. What makes any of this relevant is that its an open-source powered community centre (i say open source rather than FOSS as they run ubuntu - dont worry im bringing it down from the inside). The music and video projects all run on ubuntu studio and ever IT station runs ubuntu as well. Due to the amount of work and interest surrounding the linux platform there have been several linux orientated conferences at the centre, and the reason for this post is that there is another one earmarked for the end of june.

Now - id really like people from the blag project to come and talk. About anything really, but mostly about the potential for progressive community focused action of FOSS projects, which is one of the things got me excited about BLAG and most other fsf approved projects (plus im a commie).
Im talking to the fella whos arranging it but id rather know that there would be people up for it first beofre i approach the organziation.
Have a look at the link and then start sticking up hands.
Transport and accomodation can be arranged (you guys and gals can handle bar floors and blankets right?)

I personally can't as I'm on the other side of the world. Perhaps other blaggers can. :)

I once saw a page at fsf.org that listed various FSF speakers and their specialties, but I can't find it at the moment. They may be good to contact for additional speakers as well. They mention it at this page, for example:

Thanks!

-Jeff

Thanks alot for the input jeff, it may just be cool to have any blag users from the southwest to come along and take part, rather than have the obligation of speaking. Id really like to push towards more FOSS rather than the semi-free linux derivatives we are using at the minute, so having some regular users there who can attest to blags functionality as a desktop system would be great.
