From playing around with 90K, I've been having a couple weird Gnome problems, the rest of the system seems fine. This is more of a "I'm too lazy to look in bugzilla" posting.
- Networking always listed as offline. I'm on the network, but I'm listed as offline by the connection icon, firefox comes up as offline and I have to put it online, and Pidgin even though it connects to servers, has the message next to my name "waiting for connection
- spell check stuck on British English
- Sounds always muted on start up (will try suggestions in other thread)
- I also would like to get an old GDM login back, it was much more snazzy. When I booted up my 30K box I was ooo and awing at it. The current one looks old.

I lurked in #fedora in freenode for a couple months and I swear GDM was complained about more than just about anything. They did a complete rewrite of it and lost many good features. I hate that you can't select a different session/desktop if you aren't using passwords! And auto-login is a kludge now.
Or do you just mean the image? haha. Or the gdm features. anyway, that's my minirant.

I'm pretty much talking about the entire user experience is now crap. I dislike the picture is the same as the gnome desktop, the entire login area is ugly compared to what we have had in BLAG. Selecting users rather than typing them in is less than appreciated. If this is because of a redesigned GDM, then I'd say it's just another example of GNOME needing to be kicked to the curb.
I feel quite tempted to attempt to replace GDM with Qingy:

qingy looks interesting, but requires FB, which isnt enabled by default. I also don't see that it supports ConsoleKit, which means its kind of a showstopper to use by default (same drawback slim has).
What image are you getting by default? You shouldn't get just the blue screen thing from fedora (that was there in earlier alphas, but not final, unless i dropped the ball..)

Personally I can live without Consolekit stuff. I might look at slim though. It seems these days I'm more interested in removing features than adding them...
I get the GNOME desktop wallpaper in GDM.

Another ongoing funky gnome problem.
Nautilus crashes sometimes when opening folders. Could be a new folder or an old folder. Seems pretty darn random. Sometimes when it's a new folder it will crash several times in a row opening it.
I tried turning off sounds, but no luck. I wanted to turn off sounds anyways so no biggie. (for a while I thought my sound card had a bad driver, turned out to be gnome
And the good note, it's getting me to do command line more, but that's a pretty poor feature for a GUI.
Well this will get me off my butt to get XFCE going and maybe even a respin.

I tend to get __rid__ of gdm on most of my X-based installations and use xdm instead. Not as pretty but very small and stays out of my way, just like fluxbox...

pcmanfm is an awesome file manager, far better than nautilus.
Right now I'm playing with XFCE.
Another ongoing problem with 90K, the only music player I can get to work is XMMS.
90K is shaping up to be a "learn a lot about your system" type of distros. I think a lot of this is Fedora sent out a lot of software that was far more beta than 100% ready. I'm guessing they are trying to get a solid 10 for RedHat to do the next enterprise.

By default pulseaudio is running (this from upstream F9 too). I'm not a big fan of pulseaudio though. What output plugin are you using for xmms?
Try various things with mplayer to see what you got going on:
