Hi, I just tried out Blag and I like it alot. I think I am going to stick with it as my favorite Linux distro. Anyways, I do have a question and I don't want to sound rude but whats with all the crappy desktop backgrounds and wierd pictures during install?

Oh, I think this design is so cool, when you see these pictures, you feel yourself out of Micro$oft, u feel free ^^
BLAG is really my favourite distro and and... I know, I just know the Mandrake, Fedora, Ubuntu, Knoppix and BLAG distros lol
But I guess u think that this design doesn't look good, but it's the choice of the developers, and I respect that.

Oh I completely understand. I am not saying it should be changed. I was wondering if there was a reason behind it. I mean did someone specially make these pics for Blag?

I think (not sure at all) that it's jebba that does this design.
I think it's designed to change than the other distributions and to look more "open an' free"

Hey Joe, glad you like the distro. I too am a happy user of blag. I am not a designer or programer but injoy using the distro and plan on helping as much as I can.
As far as the graphics/pics go. I liked them. I think they really look good and give the distro a different feel during installation.

I have to voice my opinion now and the moderators can delete it if they feel they need to but,

Joe don't you think you being a little disrespectful?
So you didn't like the pics. That doesn't make them crappy or wierd. Hope to see you hand out for a bit, but please respect others work wether you like it or not!

Peace

The graphics are cool and different from the norm. If anyone feels they can do better then go for it.

I think Hyland makes all the graphics and not Jeff though I may be wrong.

Yes, the pictures were made especially for blag, the vast majority made with blag itself (using sodipodi, inkscape, & gimp).

Hyland designed the graphics based on a lot of art that he deals with. He's a painter and runs an art gallery.

I agree that they are weird, which is exactly why I like them. ;) I'm really sick of programs looking like corporate shiiite.

Also, if anyone wants to submit graphics, upload a URL or feed them to bugzilla.blagblagblag.org and I'll see if I can integrate them.

I agree, the BLAG default theme doesn't look appealing, but if you tinker with it,and install a windowmanager like lets say.....fluxbox,BLAG is really fast and efficient.

Personally, I like the default BLAG look and feel alot better than windoz XP, or alot of other themes. :)

Well it depends what you call pretty. Some people like that pukey look a Mac gives out while some think that is ultra smooth. I used to like it but as with all things it got old quickly. Given BLAG is open source it can look and feel how anyone wants it to be. That is the beauty of it.

BLAG is great, BLAG is God, BLAG is the micro$oft's killer, BLAG will set up free.
And I really think that ^^

It is not so much I hate Micro$oft. I just want a world where there are a zillion OS'es to choose from and freedom. I would rather M$ stay in business and just get overtaken by Linux because that will shut the M$ loyalists up a lot easier.
