Hello. I have installed Streamripper as follows

yum install streamripper ( as root )

But an Icon has not appeared in the Sound and Video menu.
Did I install the program correctly ??

Have you tried running the command "which streamripper"? If properly installed, it should return the following:

Code:
pablo@bocajuniors=> which streamripper
/usr/bin/streamripper

From what I can tell, Streamripper is designed to be used either from a terminal or from within the Streamtuner program. Therefore, Streamripper will not automatically appear in the menu after installation; there'd be little point as it has no GUI of it's own.

When installed, Streamtuner will appear in the menu under 'Sound & Video'. If you were to run Streamtuner, then you would be able to record streams, with Streamripper being used behind-the-scenes.

Another method for launching programs is to press together keys 'Alt + F2'

You can then begin typing the name of the program in the 'Run Application' message box that appears. In most cases, the name of the program is auto-completed for you after the first few letters.

And the streamtuner is now in the sound and video menu. And I can rip the radio stations.
