Now that BLAG, the greatest distro ever is dead, what distro is most similar. I was especially fond of BLAG's speed, availability of codecs out of the box, excellent free support, and stability.

Try this one: ftp://blag.fsf.org/119000/en/iso/
And with some blag extended icons theme, you'll be happy!:https://we.riseup.net/blag+artist/really-little-guys-icon-set-for-119k-beta+55527
With a little help it'll be out in a few time with its own repository.
Thanks to try it and give feedback.

PS: I use blag because of blag community but my prefered distro is Debian.

Dead? No, was in a coma for a while, then hibernation, but it's getting ready to rise again. :)

And if you like, you can become part of it, We are always looking for new people to dive in, no matter what kind of experience you have (there is always room).

But to answer your question. alternatives to BLAG (based on the fact that they too are RPM based distros) are Fedora (bleeding edge software) or CentOS (older software but VERY stable).

After downloading from ftp://blag.fsf.org/119000/en/iso/
I tested the integrity of the iso image:

807c712f04a5beb7ea13e56d7eacbde4 BLAG-119999-Live-i686.iso

Which does not correspond with that in the MD5SUM file:

a933b37bca7ea2ba6701d36d54437cb6 BLAG-119999-Live-i686.iso

Testing the disc with its autotest and then playing with it for a while was OK, so I suppose there is
an error in such MD5SUM.

Thanks for your input, harmattan. I've also experienced problems with the m5sum and will try to recreate these sums during the next days to ensure file integrity.
