There should be an easier way to unrar files than browsing through tens of pages trying to gather disperse information...
Could any@ne, please, help me with the appropriate command to install an unrar app?
Thank You.
:)

Oh... but I got a lot of old info that I need...
How can I install the non-free utility to unrar?
(How is that there is not an open Linux App that unrar...?
This kind of things would facilitate Migration from other OS's...)

I can't encourage you to use non-free software but:
| Code: | #yum install --nogpgcheck http://download1.rpmfusion.org/nonfree/fedora/rpmfusion-nonfree-release-stable.noarch.rpm
#yum update
#yum install unrar |

Reading Around I found Peazip under LGPL at
http://www.linuxlinks.com/article/2008050115483172/PeaZip.html
Gonna work on it...
...having present Your last lines... and I'll tell You.
By the moment, keeping the System working
and I'll see when new 'strange kind of compressed files' appear again...
:)

Peazip just invokes 7z when unpacking RARs, and 7z relies on nonfree
source to do that (which makes 7z proprietary).
There is a free program for this job, The Unarchiver
(http://www.fsf.org/blogs/licensing/free-rarv3-extraction); I can't tell whether
it is ready for general use, though.

OK... I'll take a further look
although it seems -at first sight- that it gives only limited solution for the .ace files...
I'd have to check the version of my stored .ace files...
Thank You Again.
