|
|
I can't save settings on my laptop in Blag 3 in preferences, like making the panel hide and transparent, because the OK button is off the bottom of the screen.
I can only get 800x600 and 640x480
I think I need 1024x768 to make everything smaller to fit on the screen. I hope this makes sense?
Any ideas will be welcome
thanks

Easy way: in Gnome, Applications -> System Settings -> Display. If you get there and find there is no higher resolution available, you'll probably have to do it the hard way - hack the xorg.conf file. But try this first.

WonderfuI.
I hacked the file and rebooted a couple of times.
Some strange things happened and now I've got 1024x768
and it's all in proportion.
Thanks a lot, now if only I can get my sound working.......

If I understand correctly your window to set the resolution is bigger than your screen.
To shift a window byond your screen hold ALT while click and drag the window, that way you can reach any part of a window.
(hope that makes sence to people)
