I have some time and a bit of patience. Want to compile the 2.6.11 kernel. Need a good guide to tell me what all the drivers are and if my machine needs them. Can produce output from lspci, lshw and the /proc/ directory. Compiled one before but just removed 1000mbit ethernet, game drivers and some trivial stuff. Want to remove more so need to know more about devices and drivers. The /usr/src/Documentation/ directory was my starting point last night....
